Sandstone is composed maily of cemented grains of sand, sandstone has a granular texture and is the second more abundant of all the sedimentary rocks, shale being the most common. In addition to quartz, sandstone may contain sand sized particles or calcite, gyspum or various iron compounds.

Any interior or exterior surface on which these tiles will be laid must be suitable for the purpose. The surface must be level, dry, clean and free of any dust, grease or loose materials.
When unpacking stone extra care must be taken as wooden and stone spacers may need to be removed from the packaging before the stone can be lifted out. Stone should always be stacked and stored vertically on its edge, but not on hard surfaces to minimize risk of chipping.
